FAQs for Tryouts:

Q: Does my player have to attend tryouts?
A: Tryouts are mandatory for all players league ages 7-12. This helps the league appropriately place each player in the division which matches their skills with peers.

Q: What does league age mean?
A: Little League International establishes an age bracket for each age group which is slightly shifted from a calendar year. You can find the league age chart here: https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/2026-baseball-age-chart/

Q: Can I request a team or coach for my player?
A: Team requests are only made at the t-ball and farm divisions. All other teams in other divisions are placed via a draft.

Q: What does my player need for tryouts?
A: Any equipment they would bring to a game (hat, baseball glove, bat, helmet and cleats.) If your player is interested in catching and has gear, they may bring that too.

Q: How long are tryouts?
A: Each player has a 30 minute tryout slot.  Arrive 20 minutes prior to allow time to check-in and warm-up.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Tryouts will continue as they are conducted on turf fields. If we need to delay, we will announce via email on the tryout day.

Q: Are travel bats permitted during tryouts?
A: No, players are to use the same bats as will be used during the regular season.
